سيبويه (148 - 180 هـ = 765 - 796 م)
عمرو بن عثمان بن قنبر الحارثي بالولاء، أبو بشر، الملقب سيبويه: إمام النحاة، وأول من بسط علم النحو.
ولد في إحدى قرى شيراز، وقدم البصرة، فلزم الخليل بن أحمد ففاقه.
وصنف كتابه المسمى «كتاب سيبويه - ط» في النحو، لم يصنع قبله ولا بعده مثله.
ورحل إلى بغداد، فناظر الكسائي.
وأجازه الرشيد بعشرة آلاف درهم.
وعاد إلى الأهواز فتوفي بها، وقيل: وفاته وقبره بشيراز.
وكانت في لسانه حبسة.
و «سيبويه» بالفارسية رائحة التفاح.
وكان أنيقا جميلا، توفي شابا.
وفي مكان وفاته والسنة التي مات بها خلاف.

Book Description
أحد أهم مؤلفات اللغوي البصري سيبويه ويعتبر أول كتاب منهجي ينسق ويدون قواعد اللغة العربية. وقال عنه الجاحظ أنه «لم يكتب الناس في النحو كتاباً مثله». أُلِّفَ الكتاب في القرن الثاني للهجرة الموافق للثامن من الميلاد. سمي بالكتاب لأن مؤلفه تركه دون عنوان. من المقطوع تاريخياً أن سيبويه لم يسمِّه باسم معين، على حين كان العلماء في دهره ومن قبل دهره يضعون لكل كتاب اسماً، وقد يكون أعجل عن تسميته بأنه احتضر شاباً، فلم يتمكن من معاودة النظر فيه واستتمامه، وقد سماه الناس قديماً قرآن النحو. قال عنه السيرافي : وكان كتاب سيبويه لشهرته وفضله علَماً عند النحويين ، فكان يقال بالبصرة : قرأ فلان الكتاب، فيعلًم أنه كتاب سيبويه. وقال الجرمي: أنا منذ ثلاثون سنة أفتي الناس في الفقه من كتاب سيبويه.
