The Author Book Amalie Ibn Al Mazraa .
ابن المزرع ( 000 - 304 هـ = 000 - 916 م)
يموت بن المزرع العبدي، من عبد القيس، البصري، أبو بكر: شاعر أديب، من مشايخ العلم.
وهو ابن أخت الجاحظ. من أهل البصرة.
زار بغداد (سنة 301) وهو شيخ كبير. وزار مصر مرارا.
وكان لا يعود مريضا خوفا من أن يتطير باسمه. ويقول: بليت بالاسم الذي سماني به أبي. وسمى نفسه «محمدا» فذكره بعض المؤرخين في «المحمدين» ولكن اسمه الأول غالب عليه.
له رواية للأخبار وحكايات أورد بعضها ابن خلكان.
مات بطبرية وقيل بدمشق.
وهو أبو «مهلهل بن يموت» صاحب كتاب (سرقات أبي نواس. ط).
قال ابن حزم: واسم يموت محمد، وإنما يموت لقب .
