عثمان بن محمد بن أحمد بن محمد بن هارون بن وردان السمرقندي، أبو عمرو المصري، الحذاء.
شيوخه:
أحمد بن شيبان الرملي.
أبو أمية الطرسوسي.
محمد بن حماد الطهراني.
محمد بن عبد الحكم القطري.
تلاميذه:
أبو عبد الله بن منده.
ابن جميع.
الحافظ عبد الغني الأزدي.
عبد الرحمن بن عمر بن النحاس.
الخصيب بن عبد الله بن محمد.
أحمد بن محمد بن الحاج الإشبيلي.
محمد بن ذكوان التنيسي.
مكانته:
السمرقندي، الشيخ، الثقة، المحدث.
قال ابن يونس: ثقة له سماعات صحاح في كتب أبيه.
انتهي إليه علو الإسناد بمصر، وهو أعلي شيخ لعبد الغني.
وبعض الناس يقول: حدثنا عثمان بن أحمد ينسبه إلى جده.
توفي في شعبان، وله خمس وتسعون سنة.
