ابن المظفر (286 - 379 هـ = 899 - 989 م)
محمد بن المظفر بن موسى بن عيسى، أبو الحسين البزاز: محدث العراق في عصره.
يقال: إنه من ولد سلمة بن الأكوع، وكان يقول: لا أعلم (أو لا أتيقن) أننا من العرب.
أصله من سامرا، ومولده ووفاته ببغداد.
صنف كتبا، أحدها في (فضائل العباس) قال القاضى محمد بن عمر: رأيت من أصوله في الوراقين شيئا كثيرا، كلها من روايته عن يحيى بن صاعد، فسألت الوراق عنها، فقال: باعنى ابن المظفر هذه الأصول ثمانين رطلا، وكانت كلها بخطه الدقيق، فسألت ابن المظفر، فقال: هل أؤمل أن يكتب عنى حديث ابن صاعد ؟ يعني لكثرة ما كان عنده من العوالي
