هذه طبعة جديدة، مصححة منقحة من "ديوان البرعي" الشاعر المتصوف، الذي أكثر من مدح الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم في شعره وله قصائد وعظية رائعة، وقبل أن نقرأ شعر عبد الرحيم البرعي اقرأ ترجمته والتأملات والنظرات التي سنحت للمحقق "عبد الرحمن المصطاوي" لنا أثناء قراءتنا له. أن يضطلع للقيام بها حيث جاء عمله في هذه الطبعة من "ديوان البرعي" على النهج الآتي: أولاً: قراءة النص، وضبطه بالشكل، وتصحيح الأخطاء التي وردت في الطبعات السابقة للديوان، حيث تم مقابلة أكثر من طبعة (الطبعة الكاستلية بمصر،، وطبعة أخرى طبعت بمصر). ثانياً: التعليق على النص الشعري: أ-شرح الكلمات الغريبة. ب-تخريج الآيات القرآنية الكريمة، ج-بيان أسماء المواضع. ثالثاً: التقديم للديوان، وفيه: أ-ترجمة البرعي، ب-نظرات في ديوان البرعي وشعره. رابعاً: ترتيب القصائد حسب روي القافية فيها على ترتيب المعجم ليسهل الرجوع إليها، وترقيم أبيات القصيدة الواحدة. خامساً: وضع عناوين للقصائد، وقد استوحيت هذه العناوين من نص البرعي نفسه.
