..ثم أُلقينا في قعر الجحيم بعد حساب دام خمس مئة سنة... أوّل ما أحسستُ به هو صقيعٌ كأنّني أقف على جليد شديد التّماسك. ويلتف من حولي بخار يتصاعد بسرعة كبيرة، وأرى جبالا تنفجر منها براكين تتقاذف وتندفع بسرعة البرق نحو السّطح الذي أقف فيه... رفعتُ عينيّ فرأيت أُناسًا تُـلقى من مكان عالٍ جدا... شديد العتمة، حيث ترتطم وجوههم عند السّقوط على ذلك الجليد بشدّة حتى تُكسر و تُحطم أضلعهم و تتداخل أعضاؤهم وتنفجر أمعاؤهم... ومايكادون يصرخون من الألم إلا ويُعاد تشكيل أجسامهم، فيتماشون كمشية الأعرج الثّمل، يتساقط عليهم أشخاص آخرون فيكسرون رؤوسهم فيتصارخون من جديد، جهنّم أريد أن أستيقظ من هذا الفزع،وما هممت أن ألتف حولي حتى سقط فوقي جسم كبير، كأنّه تنينٌ ذَنَبُهُ طويل، كسّر رقبتي وفجّر فـكّي، فبكيتُ وصرختُ لثمان وعشرين سنة متتابعة مرّت كالبرقِ وفي صمتٍ مخيف، وما بقي مني إلا عيني يختلط فيها الدّمع والدّم والقَيح، أريد أن أعرف من هو الجسم الذي أصابني في مقتل بين مئةِ ألفِ ألفٍ من البشر التي تهطل كالشّتاء؟ في غرفة ضيّقةٍ جدّا لا يُعرف سقفها من جدرانها، لا يُعرف أبعادها، لا أفهم الأشياء ولا أعقِلها، لا لون أميّزه، ولا أفهم هذا الصّوت البعيد بأي لغة يصرخ. لا يشبه شيئا، لا أُدرك شيئا من حولي، سوى نفسي...
