كان يوماً قائظاً في مدينة الفيوم ، بينما راحت الشمسُ ترسل سهامها الحارة تُلهبُ الوجوه ، ونسبة الرطوبة مرتفعة في الجو، مما يجعل الإنسان أقل تحملاً لحرارة أيام هذا الصيف ،لم يصبح الطقس في مصر كعهده في مثل هذا الوقت من الأعوام السابقة ، فقد أصبح المناخ عموماً متغيراً في المنطقة كلها ، وبات الصيف أكثر حرارة ، والشتاء أكثر برودة ، وعلى أي حال ، فالمشكلة ليست في إرتفاع درجة الحرارة بل هي في إرتفاع نسبة الرطوبة ، واليوم من الأيام التي تزيد فيها معدلات الرطوبة ، ورغم أنني خرجتُ لتوّي من الحمّام ، بعد أن أخذتُ حمّاماً ، فإنني أجدني راغبة في العودة لكي ألقي بنفسي تحت الماء مرة أخرى ،ولا أدري ماذا أصابني ، فقد كنتُ أصحو من نومي مبكراً مفعمة بالنشاط ،مما كان يجعل يومي كله حيوية ،إلا أنني ربما أصبحتُ أكثر إرتباطاً بالفراش ،لا أكاد أفتح عينيَّ على صباح جديد ، حتى أعود فأغمضهما مرة ثانية ، وكأن أوزاناً تثقلُ على جسدي ، فأحتاج إلى قوة إضافية تساعد روحي المُنهَكة ، لكي أنتزع نفسي إنتزاعاً من جاذبية السرير، فأستعين بالتثاؤب ، وأتمطّى ، وأفرك عينيَّ في حركات كسولة بلهاء ، ولكن في الحقيقة هي ليست حركات كسولة ولا بلهاء ، إنها حركات إنسانة مُتعَبة ، مُرهَقة ، فقد قضيتُ ليلتي مؤرقة ، مسهَّدة ، وكان قلقي قد أقَضَّ مضجعي ، فلم يواتني النعاس إلا عند إقتراب الفجر ، كنتُ أراقب النجوم المتلألئة في الظلام ، من خلال النافذة وأحدِّقُ في الطريق صامتة ، يلفّني ظلام الليل المنساب من النافذة ، بعد أن تدفَّقَ في فضاء الشارع ، تدفُّقْ النهر إذا فاض ، فانسابت ستائره الداكنة ، وغطت البيوت في غلالة مظلمة ، وقد نام الشارع تحت قبة السماء المترامية ، وفيما كنتُ أقف إلى النافذة ، شاردة ، أتأرجح في عناء مع أفكاري ، كانت الشجرة القابعة أمام النافذة تبدو فروعها وكأنها أشباح تتراقص تحت جنح الظلام ، ترعب خيالي ، وترعبني .. ماذا حلَّ بي ؟ ، هل أخشى من الغد؟
