ويهدف الكتاب إلى تعميق الإدارك الواعى بعلاقة الإنسان ببعض الكائنات البحرية .. تلك العلاقة المستدامة والمتينة بين المخيف والخائف .. فهذا المجهول هو مصدر إلهام للشعراء، ولكنه في الوقت ذاته مصدر خوف من الغيب والمستتر وأى علاقة ستكون مسخا كاذباً إذا لم نستمر فى التمحيص والاكتشاف وزيادة فى المعرفة لهذا الكيان المائى الجميل، بما فيه من كائنات ذات أشكال وأحجام وألوان وقوانين بل وعلاقات متبادلة غير محدودة.
