إن الانسان منذ أن أمكن التعرف عليه تاريخيا نجده متدينا ويتبع طقوسا ويتمسك بعقائد حيث تهدف كلها إلى عبادة الله الواحد والإيمان به، ففي الهند مثلاً نجد الأسفار المعروفة بالكتب القيدية ما نصه «أن الاله الأكبر قد خلق الأرض بكلمة ساوه فاقرها بأن توجد فبرزت على الفور إلى حيز الوجود». أما في الصين واليابان فنجد «أن اله السماء هو الذي يصرف الأكوان ويدبر أمور الانسان
