يوهان ديفيد فيس (٢٨ مايو ١٧٤٣م/١١ يناير ١٨١٨م) كان قسيسًا في الجيش السويسري، وكانت خدمته في إيطاليا. هو مؤلف الرواية الشهيرة «عائلة روبنسون السويسرية» التي يقال إنه استلهمها من رواية دانيال ديفو «روبنسون كروزو»، إلا أنه أرادها رواية يتعلم منها أبناؤه قيمًا مختلفة عن الترابط الأسري وبناء الحضارة. أصبحت الرواية واحدة من أشهر الروايات في أدب الأطفال على مر الزمان، وقد حررها للنشر ابنه يوهان رودولف.

عائلة روبنسون السويسرية هي رواية نُشرت للمرة الأولى عام ١٨١٢، تدور أحداثها حول تحطم سفينة كانت تحمل على متنها إحدى العائلات السويسرية في طريقها إلى بور جاكسون بأستراليا.
وعندما ألف القصة القس السويسري يوهان ديفيد فيس وحررها ابنه يوهان رودولف فيس، كان الغرض منها تعليم أولاده الأربعة القيم العائلية، والإدارة الجيدة للموارد، وفوائد عالم الطبيعة، والاعتماد على النفس. قُدمت المغامرات في صورة سلسلة من الدروس في التاريخ الطبيعي والعلوم الطبيعية على غرار الكتب التعليمية الأخرى المشابهة التي كانت تُكتب للأطفال في تلك الفترة.
