يتولى حاليا رئاسة تحرير كتب الأطفال بدار الهلال

يحب الناس الشخصيات المليئة بالتناقضات, وقد شغف البشر طوال تواريخهم بمثل هذه الشخصيات,التي خلَّدتها عوامل عديدة, مثلما حدث مع أسمهان ، والتي ستبقى لغزًا لن تحل مفرداته أبدًا ، فهي لم تترك وراءها الوثائق التي تفسر حياتها المليئة بالتناقضات.
يقول محمود قاسم ""عندما قررت الكتابة حول أسمهان بطلب من الناشر, شعرت أنني داخل غابة مليئة بالمتاهات, والأشجار الشوكية... كتب زملاء آخرون عن جوانب أخرى في مراجع عديدة, ولا أعتقد أنني وجدت شخصية فنية تقبل عليها الصحافة الفنية مثل أسمهان, وما أكثر الصحف والمجلات المصرية, والعربية التي أفردت حلقات متعددة للحديث عنها , ولا شك أنني رجعت إلى الكثير وأنا أكتب عنها, لكنني في النهاية استطعت أن أصبغ كتابتي بأسلوبي في البحث, كي أجعل بين يديك كتابًا متفردًا.
