وقد قام على إنشاء الصحافة العربية، وقدم لها بالجهد والعلم والمال مئات من الصحفيين الأدباء من رواد المهنة، والمؤمنين برسالتها في الحياة، حتى بلغت في أيامنا مكانها من النضج والاستواء.
وسيجد القاريء في هذه الصفحات تاريخًا شاملًا لبعض الصحفيين من العرب، معظمهم من حملة الأقلام في القرن التاسع عشر، ولعل التأريخ لهذه الصفوة من الصحفيين أصعب ما يقابل المؤرخ لبعد الشقة بيننا وبينهم.
