هذا الكتاب الجرئ هو لواحد من أبناء المهنة الذين لم يعجبهم وضع حال الصحافة المصرية ، فكتب عن تحول عدد كبير من الصحفيين والإعلاميين المصريين من النقيض الي النقيض، وفقا لتغير الأوضاع السياسية في البلاد، ومن ثم مهادنة كل نظام، ونفاق كل حاكم، وأصبحت المهنية والحيادية ليست هي المعيار في كتابتهم، لكن المصلحة الشخصية والأهداف الذاتية هي معيارهم. مؤلف الكتاب هو الصحفي أشرف عبد الشافي ابن المهنة الذي لم يكن يروق له أن يتغير الصحفيون بهذا الشكل السريع، وأن ما يهمهم هو مصالحهم الخاصة واهتمامه بالحفاظ علي مناصبهم، غير عابئين، وقد إختار الكاتب مجموعة من الصحفيين الذين وصفهم بالمتحولين، أي الذين أيدوا النظام السابق ثم انقلبوا عليه بعد الثورة، وحاول المؤلف إسقاط الأقنعة الزائفة لهؤلاء الكتاب والصحفيين علي حد وصفه، وأكد علي أن أغلبهم من صنيعة النظام السابق الذين ساندوا التوريث وضللوا الشعب وزيفوا الحقائق.
