لكل مدينة رجل، لا أعتقد أني رجل هذه المدينة ولكنها بعض معاناتي، واليوم أدفع خطواتي فوق أرصفتها فلا أجد سوى وجهها الشاحب وقطرات الألم تتساقط من عيون الأنهار، فكل شيء صعب في هذا الزمان ورغم ذلك فنحن نعيش، فتكرم أيها السيد وانظر إلى طلبي فابنتي تريد أن ترى أيامها القادمة مستقرة، ولأني أتخيل بنرجسة شاعر، رسمت شاشة جدار الاستعلامات الرجل ببدلته المستوردة ونظراته المحسوبة بدقة كومبيوتر (صخر) وبعد أن دفع من فمه سحابة الدخان كتب على الطلب "لحين توفر الدرجة"، عندها قلت لكن مثل جرأة محارب وادخل عوالم التجريب تشخيص الأيام التي تتراكم فوق برج الذاكرة وأتجانس مع خيالات الماضي بعد أن ينتهي طابور توزيع أحذية جلود الرخيصة لأقتنص وجهاً سومرياً يجعل الذاكرة تهيم في مخيلة من الغرابة، وهكذا شمرت عن ساعدي واستخدمت طريقة صيادي المواهب وجلست على مدرجات ملاعب النساء وكل واحدة تمر يذكرني عطرها ولون شعرها بالغرب المستورد. الغرب الذي يحاصرنا حتى و نحن نمارس ما حللّه الله مع زوجاتنا. ويكاد النهار ينتهي وليس هناك من لها عطر بخور المعبد المشتعل في الزقورة روحي ولا عيون باتساع ما تملكه شبغاد، وهكذا أعود بخفي حنين إلى بيتي وعلى الفراش أرخي ساقي بعد أن أخبر زوجتي أنها وعند إغفاءتي عليها أن تضع كتاب (ألواح سومر) تحت وسادتي.
