وتدخل رواية «فتاة غسان» ضمن سلسلة روايات تاريخ الإسلام، وتشتمل الرواية علي وصف أحوال العرب منذ ظهور الإسلام علي يد النبي محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، مرورا بفتح مكة، وحتى عهد أمير المؤمنين عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله عنه، وما تم في عهده من اتساع لرقعة الحكم الإسلامي شمل العراق وفارس والشام. وكان من بين المناطق التي شملها الفتح فلسطين والقدس، حيث طردت الجيوش الإسلامية القوات الرومانية ولم تعد القدس خاضعة للحكم الروماني. وقد اهتم عمر بهذا الفتح أشد الاهتمام حتى أنه رحل من الحجاز إلى القدس بنفسه ليتوج هذا النصر. ويتخلل الرواية وصف لعادات وتقاليد اجتماعية وأخلاقية عاشتها العرب في تلك الفترة من الزمان.
