كتاب تاريخي حول أحد كبار الشخصيات السياسية والحضارية في التاريخ الإسلامي عموما وتاريخ المغرب خصوصا؛ إنه يوسف بن تاشفين مؤسس دولة المرابطين الكبرى في المغرب والأندلس، الذي قام بإنجازات عظيمة كان لها بالغ الأثر في نصرة الإسلام وإحياءه والدفاع عنه في منطقة الغرب الإسلامي. فهو الرجل الذي انطلق من الصحراء الافريقية ووحد أقطار المغرب الممزقة، وأنهى الاضطراب فيها ثم توجه نحو الأندلس التي جاهد فيها ضد العدو النصراني وقضى فيها على وضع ملوك الطوائف الذي يضعف صف المسلمين، ليتمكن في النهاية من توحيد الأندلس مع المغرب في دولة قوية كان لها فضل كبير في استمرار الإسلام بالأندلس والمحافظة عليه في المغرب.
