«في مصيدة الحب» نص في ماهية الحب. تقول لقارئها: أن الحب هو أحد أسمى المشاعر وأقوى العلاقات، يجمع القلوب في عروة من ورود. أنه الحب الذي تعجز أي لغة في التعبير عنه وإعطائه حقه. إنه فعل تتحرر فيه الذات، وتتناغم الروح مع إنسانيتها. ولكن عندما يسعى بعض الناس إلى فصل هذا التناغم نقع في مصيدة الحب، فيؤسر الجسد وتضمحل الروح. «في مصيدة الحب»، نرى كيف تُحطم القلوب المُحبة القيود التي تحول دون لقاء المحبين، وتثبت أن التقوقع الإثني وباء يحطم القلوب. في مصيدة الحب، بعد أن يلتف المحبون على القيود الإثنية يرضخون لها، ولكن عندها تظهر قيود طبقية أخرى. وعندما ينتصرون عليهم يجدون أن هذه القيود قد تركت أثلاماً غائرة أوشكت أن تقطع نياط قلوبهم وتقودهم إلى هاوية لم تخطر ببال أحد. «في مصيدة الحب»، رواية تزخر بفرح الشباب وعنفوانهم، وتعبّر عن عزيمتهم وإحباطهم، وحلولهم المبتكرة، وتثبت أن لا شيء يقف في طريق حبهم. إنها عالمية بمفهوم القيم والمشاعر، وكوزموبولتنية من حيث الشخصيات. هذه الرواية، ملهمة للشباب، وتدق ناقوس الخطر للأكثر شباباً، وتثبت لمن هم أكثر شيباً مدى الضرر الذي يترتب عن قمع المشاعر ووأدها.
