تشكّل هذه الرواية أحد الأجزاء الستة للملهاة الفلسطينية التي قام الشاعر والكاتب الفلسطيني بإصدارها والتي تتحدث عن الحياة في فلسطين وتصف مأساة الشعب الفلسطيني في أكثر من مرحلة.
قناديل ملك الجليل كانت القنديل الذي عزز ملهاة الروائي إبراهيم نصر الله بضوء كان الأقدم في تاريخها حيث ذكرت هذه الرواية أحداث دارت في نهايات القرن السابع عشر والقرن الثامن عشر بأكمله أي تقريبا ما بين العام (1689-1775).
تذكر هذه الرواية قصة القائد (ظاهر العُمَر الزّيداني) الذي ثار على الحكم التركي وسعيه لإقامة أول كيان سياسي وطني قومي حديث في فلسطين. هذا القائد الفريد الذي امتدت حدود (دولته) من فلسطين إلى كثير من المناطق خارجها.
تنبأ احدى ابطال الرواية بهذا القول :
" هناك قناديل يا شيخ لا تطفأ وقنديلك منها ، بعد كل ما فعلته ، أتراك تعتقد أن أحدا يستطيع إطفاء قنديلك ، صحيح أن أحدا لا يجرؤ على الجلوس لتدوين كل ما فعلته من أشياء عظيمة ، لأنهم لا يخافون شيئا أكثر من خوفهم من الدولة ، والدولة لا تخاف شيئا أكثر من خوفها من الحبر، ولكن بعد عام أو عشرة أو خمسين أو مئة ، سيتغير هذا ، ويتقد قنديلك وتتقد كل تلك القناديل التي أطفات ، دفعة واحدة يا شيخ"
وكان تنبؤها في مكانه إذ أن التاريخ لم يذكر الكثير من أعمال الظاهر عمر ولا مشوار حياته حتى جاء نصر الله وأوضح لنا أعمال وتاريخ هذا القائد العظيم.
رواية رائعة تأخذ القارئ أماكن وأحداث وأشخاص لم يكن يعرفها فتجعله يعيش بينهم ويتأثر بهم.
