يُقدّم الأديب المصريّ عباس حافظ هذه المجموعة القصصية، في عشرِ لوحاتٍ، نعتبرها بمثابة برهان على أنّ الحبّ هو أسمى المشاعر الإنسانية، إذ إنّ الحبّ يرتقي بالإنسان في مراتب الإيمان العليا، والحبّ غذاء القلبِ ومادّة الرّوح الّتي تُجسّدُ تجلّيًا من تجلّيات الله في خلقه، والحبّ كذلك جوهر الكون ومُحرّكُ الدّنيا الّذي يرطبها بالحياة الأخرى.
وفي هذه اللّوحاتِ العشر، يمزجُ عباس حافظ ألوانَ الحبّ، فتشرق شمسه، وتمتدُّ ظِلالُه، واهبةً الشّعور بالسّلام.
ومؤلّف هذه المجموعة، "عباس حافظ" هو أديبٌ وناقدٌ مسرحيّ، مصريّ، له الكثير من التّرجمات عن اللّغة الإنجليزية، وقد سخّر قلمه وأدواته في مسيرته النضالية، ولد في القاهرة سنة 1893، وتوفّي فيها سنة 1959.
