«المقالات الأدبيّة» مجموعةٌ من القصّ النثري، يدخل في باب المقامات، صاغها الأديب والشّاعر صالح مجدي، فشكّلت ثلاثة عشر نصًا تنقل روح الفكاهة، وتحمل من العبر الكثير، تتّسم بالجزالة وقوّة اللّغة والعبارة وإتقان الوصف، بنثرٍ مسجوع لطيف البيان، تخلّلته بضع آيات من القرآن الكريم، واحتوى كذلك على أبيات منظومةٍ.
يحكي أحد النّصوص عن رجلٍ وصل به الطّمع إلى حدّ تكبيل أبيه وإلقائه في مكان مظلم عشرينَ عامًا، كي يستولي على أمواله، بعدما أعلن وفاته. حتى أنّ أمه عانت معه فرطَ التمسّك بالمادّة، وشدّة البخل، وضنك العيش، فيورد الكاتب حكايتها مع ولدها حينما رافقته إلى بيت الله الحرام، كان ذاهبًا للتجارة وليس مقصده الحجّ أبدًا، لكنّها توسّلته أن يقبل بها في قافلته، ولم يفعل إلاّ حينما قبلت شرطه بأن تكون نفقتها على حسابها.
في الطّريق سقطت منها راحلتها وأضاعت ما لديها من مال، فأرغمها على إتمام المسير مشيًا، رغم بعد المسافة، والحرّ الشديد، وتوفّر ما ينقلها من بعير في القافلة التي يركب هو على أحدها.
