هي رواية الكاتب والناقد الأردني الشاب عاصف الخالدي الأولى، والتي جاءت في 156 صفحة من القطع المتوسط.
تتسم الرواية بخبرة عالية على صعيد تمرير حكاياتها من جهة، وعلى صعيد السرد من جهة أخرى، فكان السرد يتنقّل بخفة ورشاقة، وبكثير من الدّهاء، بين شخصيات الرواية، مبتعدًا عن المقولات المباشرة من جهة العوالم الداخلية للشخصيات، فهذه مريم في ظل انغماسها في البحث عن رائد، يجد القارئ أن السارد يعكس ما في خلدها من إحساس عميق بالذنب، تجاه ذلك الرجل “الذي سقط من ذاكرتها فانزلق على صدرها الشاسع ثم تلقفته الأرض”، من خلال قوله: “.. وحتى ترمي مريم صرّة الذنب الصغيرة، التي كانت تتعلق بروحها، وتعود أكثر خفّـة، يجب أن تجد رائد”. وبينما راحت الغربان تعيث فسادا هنا وهناك، يجسد لنا السارد تلك الحالة بقولة: «فيما الغربان الآن تعيش بكامل مواطنتها غصبـًا وبكلِّ وضوح«.
بدأ الكاتب روايته بهذه الفقرة:
«المدينة صدع يفصل بين الإنسان والحياة. وتبدأ هذه الجملة بالتمحور والظهور من خلال السرد الذي استدعى الزمن الداخلي لشخوص تتراوح حيواتهم بين العزلة وعدم الاستناد إلى هوية ذاتية محددة في صراع مع المدينة وامتدادها الزماني ونهوضها الحداثي الشكلي الدائم التغير.»
