يوسف أحمد: هو مؤرِّخٌ وعالِمُ آثارٍ مصري، عُنِيَ بالخطوطِ العربيةِ لا سيَّما الكوفية، وله مؤلفاتٌ قيِّمةٌ تُعَد مَنهلًا للمهتمين بالتراثِ الإسلامي.
وُلد «يوسف بن أحمد يوسف» بالقاهرةِ عامَ ١٨٦٩م، وكان أبوه نحَّاتًا ماهرًا، وجَّهه إلى الكُتَّاب لدراسةِ فنون الخطِّ العربيِّ ومضاهاةِ ما يروقه من نُقوشِها وزخارفها، وسرعان ما حفظ القرآنَ الكريم، وبرع في قراءة النقوش القرآنية وكتابتها. ثم التحق بلجنة الآثار العربية بالقاهرة، وفي عام ١٨٩١م تم تعيينه رسامًا وخطاطًا بها. وللمهارةِ التي أظهرها في الكتابةِ بالخطِّ الكوفي، وتركيبِ الأسماءِ المُزخرَفة باستخدامه، فقد أُضيفَ الكوفيُّ إلى الخطوطِ التي تُعلِّمها مدرسةُ «تحسين الخطوط»، وعُهِدَ إليه بتدريسِه لطُلابِها. وتَدرَّج في الوظائفِ فعُيِّن مفتشًا للآثارِ العربيةِ بوَزارةِ الأوقافِ المصرية، وأستاذًا للخطِّ الكوفيِّ بالجامعة عامَ ١٩٠٧م.
قام بنشرِ بعضِ ما ألقاه من الدُّروسِ والمحاضرات في عددٍ من الكتبِ المطبوعة، منها: «الخط الكوفي»، و«جامع ابن طولون»، و«جامع عمرو بن العاص»، و«مدينة الفسطاط»، و«مقبرة الفخر الفارسي»، و«مقياس النيل»، و«جامع السلطان حسن»، و«الإسلام في الحبشة»، و«المحمل والحج» الذي طُبع الجزءُ الأولُ منه، بالإضافةِ إلى نحوِ أربعين رسالةً أخرى ظلتْ مخطوطةً لم تُطبَع، لعلَّ مِن أهمِّها كِتابَه الذي بعنوان «الفهرست»، وهو دليلٌ موجزٌ لآثارِ القاهرة.
وافتْه المَنيَّةُ عامَ ١٩٤٢م.
Book Description
«الإسلام في الحبشة» للمؤرّخ المصريّ يوسف أحمد، يتناول هذا الكتاب تاريخ الإسلام في الحبشة بعد الهجرة، وعلاقة الحبشة بالعرب، ويسلّط الضوء على هذه العلاقة قبل عهد الإسلام، والتي كانت القوافل التجاريّة المرسلة من الطرفين بوّابةً لها.
انتشر الإسلام في الحبشة عن طريق التجّار المسلمين، حيث شقّ على الفتوحات الإسلاميّة دخولها، كونها أرضٌ ذاتُ قوامٍ طبيعيّ وبشري مختلف، يحمل خاصيّةً تحصّن البلاد من الاقتحام.
علاقة الإسلام ببلاد الحبشة علاقة تاريخيّة ذات جذور طيّبة، فهي أرض المهاجرين من المسلمين الأوائل، الذين استضافهم ملك الحبشة آنذاك وأكرم ضيافتهم، بعدما هاجروا من بلادهم في شبه الجزيرة العربية إثر اضطهاد المشركين من بني قومهم لهم، ومحاولتهم القضاءَ على الإسلام منذ نشْأته الأولى في مكّة.
في حلول القرن الرابع عشر الميلادي كان للمسلمين في الحبشة سبع ممالك، ثمّ تفاوتت الموازين مع الزمن حتى أصبح المسلمون أقلية في «إثيوبيا» الحديثة.
