اعتدت على أن أدعو بطل رواياتي (مروان)، فشخصية مروان جزء لا يتجزء من شخصية الكاتب، الكاتب الذي لم يكن يطمح بنشر رواياته فكان طموحه أن يكتب رواية ثم يلقيها جانبا حتى يكتب غيرها ويلقي بالجديد بجانب ما سبقها، فحتى بعد أن عرف طرقا لنشرها وقام بنشر أولى رواياته لم يكن يطمح بنجاحها ولكن كان يطمح أن يخلط اسمه على أحد الكتب الملقاة على أرصفة الباعة الجائلين في الطرق، فبعد أن نشر روايته قد وجد مكانا آخرا لإلقاء روايته بها بعد أن امتلأت مكتبته المتربة بكتبه ورواياته، فلم يكن يطمح أن يتحقق حلمه بعد ذلك من بعيد وتحقق روايته ذلك النجاح العظيم، فلقد توافد إليه القراء لقراءة روايته والحصول على توقيعه وإهدائه، فبعد ألم يكن يمتلك مقومات الكاتب فكان يطلق على نفسه لقب (كاتب إلا ربع) أصبح الكاتب المشهور (مروان مجدي).
