الحادث!. ياه. هذه سيارتي! لم أتوقع أن تكون نتيجة الارتطام بهذا الشكل!. تجعّدت كقرطاس. لقد حُشِرتُ هنا في هذه المساحة الضيقة، شيء لا يصدق، كأن يديّ عملاق ضغطتا السيارة من الجهتيّن. ما كنت أستطيع أن أخرج بمفردي، لقد كُسِرَت ساقي والتوى كاحلي، يا للبشاعة، ما الذي يمكن أن أشعر به لوكنت حياً، حين أرى دماً جافاً يخصني يلطّخ مكاناً ما بهذه الطريقة. أظنّه مزعجاً. هذا تساؤل مقبول لرجل ميّت مثلي للتو بدأ حياة الحياد، والأمر بالنسبة لي الآن كأن أكون شاشة تلفاز، نعم أنا الشاشة نفسها، أو الضوء الذي ينبعث منها إلى الأعين، شيء كهذا. يمكنني القول أنا السِلك المسؤول عن نقل الصورة من المصدر إلى الشاشة. هذا يتجاوز الخيال. نعم. أعتقد أن ثمة مهام عليّ قضاؤها، هذا شيء جيد، وأنا الآن – رغم الموت – على استعداد تام للقيام بأي شيء. هذا غير مقرون بمشاعر حماسية مثلاً، لكنه مجرد استعداد. وقد تكون هذه الكلمة مجازية أيضاً، لأن كل المفردات تم توظيفها لتصف حالات وسلوكيات خاصة في الحياة، أما أنا الآن فكائن ذبذباتي! هذا مصطلح غير دقيق أيضاً. سأحاول أن أستخدم كلمات قريبة. يغلب الظن أنني مأمور، وعليّ التنفيذ فقط. الوضع ممتع بعض الشيء. البيئة المحايدة تروق لي. الطقس مثلاً حار جداً كما يبدو، لكنني لا أشعر به. أنا في وسط معزول عمّا يرتبط بالمعنيين في الحياة. بكل الأحوال، أعتذر عن سوء الوصف وبشاعة التعبير.
