لقد أصبحت الحالة أصعب بكير، ففي لحظات معدودة كانت السيدة ممدة على الأرض وجسدها مُتشنّج تماماً، وتصرخ بمنتهى العنف، وهي تقول باستمرار:

أما الحاج محمد فجلس بجوارها، وهو يقرأ القرآن، ويحاول أن يهدّيء من روع السيدة التي ما زالت تصرخ، وتتلوّى في عنف شديد، وبسبب حالتها الغريبة أخذت تقضم شفتها السفلى التي أخذت تنزف بغزارة، وزوجها يبكي بجوارها، وهي تبتسم، ونتظر لي في جنون حقيقي، وأخذت تضحك بهستريا، وتضحك، وفي لحظة وكزت الحاج محمد في صدره بقوة، وهبّت واقفة أمامي، والدماء تغطي فمها تماما، وتنساب على رقبتها، وهي ما زالت تضغط أكثر وأكثر على فمها بأسنانها، وتكاد تلتهم شفتيها التهاماً...
