قد يكون محمد العشري من بين روائيين عرب قلائل من الذين استطاعوا أن يخفوا بمهارة وحرفية عالية صوت الراوي أو الحاكي ويدمجه في ثنايا النص كلغز حتى يصعب علينا التفريق – ولا يستحيل – بين صوت السارد وصوت العشري في عفوية مدهشة مصنوعة بقلم تلقائي يحاول إعادة بناء كل شيء ببراءة نصية؛ تقترب في تلقائيتها من الجمال غير المدرك لنفسه مثل بريق الصحراء ولمعان النجوم مع كل ما يستتبع ذلك من شعرية في السرد وتضفير للواقع بالخيال... في هالة النور وفي صحرائها الغامضة يلتقط العشري لنا كنوزاً ليصوغها قصصاً سردية يفتح من خلالها مناخات جديدة؛ تشكل صدى لدينامية فضاء حضاري عربي حديث تشكل فيه جدلية الانفتاح والانغلاق عنصراً حيوياً ومحدداً. الشخصية المحورية في العمل هي "حسام" يعمل في الصحراء، حيث كل شيء يجري برتابة، وتهيم الشخصية مع أحلامها وأفكارها وهنا ينبري الراوي ليحدثنا عنه وعن وضعه النفسي وحركته وأفكاره، إلى أن يلتقي بحبيبته التي يلفها الغموض، فلا يحدثنا عنها بوضوح، فهي هناك جميلة جذابة متمنعة في حضورها كأنها امرأة في حلم، وهو في طريقه إليها "... نظرتُ خلفي مبتسماً، لقطع الورق التي لحقت بنا، غطت أكتافنا وصدرينا كسرب حمام أراد أن يستريح، سمعتها تهمس في أذني، تردد منتشية في غناء عذب، لمستهُ يخرج من بين أوراق الأشجار المتدلية الأغصان، يحطّ على كتفيَّ مستكيناً: "أحبك.. أحبك..". ربما يكون العشري يعكس من خلال هذا العمل تجربة شخصية معاشة أو متخيلة بالاتكاء على عمله في الصحراء والشركات التقنية وما يتصل بفعالياتها ليؤثث بها جانباً من نسيج روايته وهذا ما منح العمل نبضاً واقعياً مقنعاً مطعماً بلغة رومانسية. تهدف إلى إعادة تخليق الكاتب لنفسه وتبيان لرؤيته كذلك... باختصار: هذه الرواية كتابة خاصة تحتاج إلى قراءات وتفسيرات خاصة...
