عمدت إلى كتاب (هدي الساري )للحافظ ابن حجر العسقلاني (ت852) رحمه الله تعالى الذي كان مقدمة صحيح الإمام البخاري رحمه الله تعالى( فتح الباري)، عمدت إلى هذا الكتاب فاخترت منه كلام الحافظ -رحمه الله تعالى- في تقويم حال بعض رجال الإمام البخاري الذين تكلم فيهم من تكلم، ومن ثم أنصفهم الحافظ ابن حجر –رحمه الله تعالى- غاية الإنصاف. لم أورد جميع من تكلم في حاله الحافظ -رحمه الله تعالى- إنما أوردت أمثلة مضيئة اخترتها لكفايتها في هذا الباب،؛ اختصاراً للقارئ وحفاظاً على وقته وجهده، ولعلمي أن أكثر أهل عصرنا خاصهم وعامهم -من أهل العربية- لا يقرأون، أو لا يجدون وقتاً كافياً ليقرأوا الموسوعات والمبسوطات، فحرصت لهذا في كل ما أورده على الاختصار والتقريب والتهذيب.
