في هذا الكتاب طرحتُ وجهة نظري ورؤيتي الشخصية في بعض الموضوعات والمشكلات الإدارية والقضايا السلوكية التي أراها جديرة بالاهتمام، وأساسا لتطوّر الـمجتمع أو تدهوره، بشكل لا يخلو من المقارنات بـمجتمعات سبقت غيرها في تكريس الالتزام بالذوق العام والأنظمة المدنية المسيّرة لشؤون البشر بمختلف مرجعياتهم.
ولعل تـخصصي في اضطرابات النوم والتعامل مع عدد من اضطرابات الـمزاج وأسباب ومضاعفات الأرق المزمن، إضافة إلى ملاحظاتـي ومراقبتي لتصرفات كثير من الناس في مجتمعات مختلفة، فضلا عن تعلّمي شيئا يسيرا من والدي – رحـمه الله – الـمتخصص في علم الاجتماع، أقول لعل ذلك كله أسهم في تشكيل رؤيتـي حول قضايا أخلاقية مُـجتمعية ومشكلات سلوكية تتعلق بتلك الـمجتمعات غير المثالية، ومقارنتها في بعض الأحيان بتلك الـمنتشرة في الـمجتمعات العربية والـمجتمع السعودي على وجه الخصوص، فكان هذا الكتاب حول بعض الأخلاق الإنسانية بوصفها قيما مثبتة في النفس فطرية أو مكتسبة يمكن تطويعها، واضطرابات السلوك الاجتماعي الظاهرة للعيان والمؤثرة في الـمجتمعات، كمشاركة متواضعة مني قد تضيف – أو لا تضيف – قيمة معتبرة لثقافتكم.
