تقع «كائنات الورق» في 152 صفحة من القطع المتوسط، وتضم قصص «حديث عيسى ورائحة الصوف» أطول قصص المجموعة، «رزنامة الظل.. اعترافات لفتى مفلس»، و«في مكان للعابر أن يلتقط ذاكرته الساقطة». ويبدأ القاص السعودي مجموعته بإهداء إلى كائناته و«إلى ليل الكتابة الطويل والمزدحم بالرؤى الزائفة والقلق.. إلى كائناته ووجه أمل لا يغيب.. أتوجه إليه بالشموع».ضمت المجموعةُ "ذاكرةً" واحدة و لكنها متنوعة الأفكار؛ تلك الأفكار التي خرجت من مجتمعٍ إنسانيٍّ بسيطٍ تجرفهُ السذاجةُ أو الوعي الكوني بكافة مستوياته ملخصةً اغتراباً لا تُشترَط فيه المسافة دائماً. فمن مفردات ذلك الواقع الإفتراضي خرج النص محملاً بالقلق والبحث عن "الآخر" في مساحته الأعم والأشمل من خلال تحطيم كائنات إجتماعية صلبة التكوين والتجربة.
