ألتحق بهيئة أبو ظبي للثقافة والتراث مديراً لمشروع "قلم".
بدأ سلسلة إصداراته عام 1979 بمجموعة قصصية بعنوان "ذات المخالب" و أخرى شعرية . أما إصداراته الروائية فبدأت برواية "الإعتراف" عام 1980

صدرت له ثماني روايات هي بالترتيب:

5. تل الصنم .
6. ثنائية مجبل بن شهوان .
7. سلائم .
8. ثنائية الروح و الحجر.
9. التمثال 2001.
أصدر أيضا مجموعة قصصية و أخرى نثرية و مسرحيتين ، بجانب مجموعة من المقالات الصحافية الأدبية.
اختيرت مؤخرا روايته " الاعتراف" إحدى أهم رواية عربية في القرن العشرين من جانب اتحاد الكتاب العرب.
Book Description
"يفرك آدم صدأه القديم بنصل السكين.. يحك الفراغ بقوة غريزية هائلة بعد مضي زمن من غياب ثاني أصبح العراء أكثر رمادية، وبغير ما تصوره آدم.. هنا يسير وحيداً ولكن الضجيج القديم لا يزال يلاحقه، كائن أسطوري يسكن تحت جلده يجعله يفرك يديه، ويدعك جفنيه، يريد أن يرى النور وهو يضرب جسد الليل بنصل السكين، والسكين لا تبدو جسورة حيال ما يصدمها من سماكة الخوار البوهيمي.
يصرح آدم، تتورم الأسلاك الممتدة من تحت العنق حتى حافة الكتف، وجهة يبدو محتقناً بالدماء واللون الأحمر يغزو مكانة يفكر آدم الآن، بالغراب الذي يحوم حول رأسه، وينعق بصوت مثل بوق مركبة شحن قديمة، قيل له في السابق أن رؤية الغراب في بطن السماء فأل شؤم، لذلك ارتعدت فرائصه وتحول إلى دفاتر الماضي، وكثرت الأسئلة في رأسه.
