يمثل الفكر الاقتصادي جزءا من الفكر الإنساني بشكل عام، ومن ثم فهو نتاج زمان ومكان محددين، وهكذا ترتبط التطورات الاقتصادية بغيرها من التطورات الأخرى، كما يتصل الفكر الاقتصادي بغيره من الأفكار الإنسانية المختلفة.
وهكذا فإن تحليل المجتمعات أو تناول الظروف الخاصة بدولة، لا يمكن أن يكون شاملاً إذا ما أقصينا الظروف السياسية والاجتماعية لهذا المجتمع، ولأن التحليل الاقتصادي يكون تحليلاً تطبيقيًا عمليًا، ولا ينفصل عن الواقع ولا عن العلوم الأخرى، فقد ظهرت نظريات عديدة تحدد تعريفات معينة وتضع نظمًا تكاملية للأنشطة الاقتصادية، محددة نظاما يتماشى مع بنيانها وهيكلها وظروفها الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والسياسية، إلا أن هناك العديد من المعايير التي تطبق بشكل عام لتمنع مشكلات لا بد أن تنجم عن تطبيق تلك النظريات، والتي لم يجد واضعوها أية حلول مجدية بشأنها.
والنظام الاقتصادي الإسلامي يتميز بأنه نظام رباني شامل متكامل، يستقى أركانه ومقوماته من الإسلام، إذ قال سبحانه وتعالى (اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم وأتممت عليكم نعمتي ورضيت لكم الإسلام دينا) «سورة المائدة الآية 3».
وثقة منا وإيمانا برب العزة سبحانه وتعالى، فقد استقر اليقين لدينا أن القران الكريم و السنة النبوية المطهرة جاءتا بتمام وكمال إسعاد البشرية في جميع نواحي حياتنا الدينية والدنيوية، وان كانت ما زالت هناك إخفاقات في التطبيق والأخذ من منهل القرآن الكريم بما يخدم حياتنا، فإن مرجع هذا إلى إخفاقنا كأمة في الأخذ والتحليل والبحث والمزيد من البحث، حتى نصل إلى الهدف الأسمى وهو الإشباع الروحي والمادي، كما ارتضاه لنا رب العزة سبحانه وتعالى.
