قبل ما يقارب نصف قرن من الزمان، لمّا راودتني فكرة كتابة المجموعة القصصية الحالية "آبشوران" وانهمكت فيها كان يحدوني أمل كبير في أن نكون آخر شهودٍ على وادي "آبشوران" وآخر جيلٍ يشاهد في حياته جريانَه. الوادي الذي كان طافحاً بكل ألوان الخبث والقبح والتعاسة. بيد أني، وللأسف الشديد، ما زلت إلى يوم الناس هذا شاهداً في بلدي على جريان "آبشوران" و"آبشورانات" أخرى. ليس في إيران فقط، بل أيضاً في البلدان الفقيرة في قارتي آسيا وإفريقيا. كنت آنئذٍ أمنِّي النفس بألا أُلفي في المستقبل القريب قارئاً لمجموعتي "آبشوران"، وإن وُجد من يقرؤها يكون كمن قرأ أسطورة تعود لعهود بربرية البشر، تثير عوالمها القبيحة حيرتَه. لكني آسف أن ما حصل غير هذا. من الطبيعي أن ينتشي أي كاتب بترجمة عمله إلى لغة أخرى لكني لن أكون كذلك لو علمت أن ترجمتي سوف تقرأ وفي الجوار أطفالٌ مازالوا يعيشون مجسِّدين ذاك الإنسان الشّقي والتعيس الذي تعكس "آبشوران" صورته بجلاء.
