"تشدها رائحة عطره فتتبعها، وتدفع الباب الموصد، تجد نفسها مرة أخرى وسط نفس الظلمة، وكالمرة الأولى تبعتْ بصيص النور، وفتحتْ النافذة، وحينما استداراتْ ظهر لها الكمان في ركن من الغرفة، وجهه مدفون بين الكراسي، شافته صامتا، من هول المشهد، لم يعد للنبض صوت لديها..استجمعتْ قواها بعدما أدخلتْ الهدوء إلى نفسها وتقدمتْ منه، في نفس وقت تهاوى كل ما خرج منه، ومدتْ يدها، ورفعته، رأتْ التراب يسكنه، وضعته على الأرض، وركعتْ بجواره وضمته لصدرها وهى تقول:
"" أنا لست هنا ""
كررتها كثيرا، هرعتُ إليها، حضنتها بقوة، وقامتْ من دون أن تنظر إليّ، كأنها كانت تخشى النظر لقرص الشمس، وبقيت كلماتها، وما خلفته كان بمثابة غبار طار، طال رأسي، وصوتها ولد من جديد:
"" فين من كان قلبه أرق من فطيرة"""
