هذا الكتاب يوضح ان هناك بعض الناس يتعرضون للشعور بالغيرة شعورا خفيفا او حادا وهو شعور مؤلم ينتج من فشل الشخص فى الحصول علي أمر محبوب كشخص او مركز او قوة او مال ونجاح شخص أخر فى الحصول عليه . والغيرة حالة انفعالية تجتاح الكبير والصغير فينقلب معها الى نار متأججة تأكل االخضر واليابس ، وتسود معها الدنيا فى وجهه ، فلا يرى الا ما ينقصه ولا ينظر الى مايميزه عن غيره ، والغيرة هى العامل المشترك فى الكثير من المشكلات النفسية عند الاطفال ، ويقصد بها الغيرة المرضية التى تكون مدمرة للطفل وسببا فى احباطه .والغيرة احد المشاعر الطبيعية عند الانسان كالحب ويجب ان تتقبلها الاسرة كحقيقة واقعية ... ولكن لا تسمح فى الوقت نفسه بنموها فالقليل من الغيرة يفيد الانسان ، فهى حافز على التفوق ولكن الكثير منها يفسد الحياة ويصيب الشخص بأثار وأضرار بالغة كالسلوك العدائى والانانية والارتباك والانزواء والغضب والصراعات النفسية ويرجع الشعور بالغيرة الشديدة –فى جزء كبير منه – الى استعداد الشخص للغيرة الذى يجعله اكثر من غيره استهدافا للشعور بالغيرة ويجعله يدرك الحرمان او التهديد بالحرمان فى مواقف كثيرة ، ويجعله يغضب ويقلق ويحقد على اشخاص قد يكون بينه وبينهم منافسة حقيقية أو منافسة وهمية من صنع خياله هو ... فقد تشعر الزوجة بالغيرة على زوجها وتغضب وتشهر بكل امرأه تتحدث معه ولو كانت أمه أو أخته أو ليس له علاقة بها .. ويتناول الكتاب تعريف الغيرة ومتى تبدأ وكيف تنشأ ، وأضرارها ووظائفها الايجابية والسلبية ومظاهرها وأنواعها ..وبعض الموضوعات المهمة فى الاسرة والغيرة فى المدرسة ، والغيرة بين الزوجين ، والغيرة من منظور دينى ..اسلامى ، واهم طرق الوقاية والعلاج من الغيرة .
