اورهان كمال ١٩١٤ ـ ١٩٧٠هو من الأدباء الأتراك المعاصرين . ولد في جيحان . واسمه الحقيقي محمد رشيد أوكوتجو . عاش أياماﹰ قاسية حين هرب والده إلـى سـورية لأسباب سياسية . وفي الثامنة عشرة من عمره عاد إلى تركيا. دخل الحياة الأدبية بكتابة الشعر في الصحف والمجلات، ثـم اتجـه إلى كتابة القصة والرواية . وبدأ يكتب بشكل دائم في صـحيفة "Varlık ـ الوجـود " .وبإبداعـه لروايتيـه "Baba Evi ـ بيـت الأب "و"Ekmek Kavğası ـ نزاع على الخبز " طارت شهرته . وبكتابة مذكراته بعنوان:"Nazim Hikmetle Üç Buçuk Yıl ـ ثلاث سنوات ونصف مع ناظم حكمت" .رسخ مكانته في الحيياة الأدبية التركية.

يقول: الكاتب يحبها.. قلت له: وهل تحب امرأة براتب ثلاثين ليرة؟ أنا أملأ ذراعيها بالأساور الذهبية المبرومة. وأجعلها تأكل مقلة عيني. قلت له غير هذا، استأجر لك داراً كبيرة في المدينة. وقلت: أبيع جمالي، وأصرفها عليك.. وأبيع كل شيء يا عمي! يقال إن والد البنت صعب. هل هذا صحيح؟"
"أي بنت؟"
"البنت البوسنية..."
"أبو جميلة؟"
"هه.."
"ليكن صعباً يا عزيزي. النقود تفرق بين الألم وابنتها... ولكن البنت ليست من النوع الذي تعرفه. قوية. الذين يلاحقونها كثيرون يا أخي، ولكنها لا تلتفت إليهم حتى."
"كيف الكاتب؟"
"الكاتب أيضاً ولد جيد، ومحترم. يشرب ولا يسكر. يدخل إلى مستودعي هذا، ويجلس أمام النافذة، ويمشط شعره.."
"وهل تحب امرأة براتب ثلاثين ليرة شهرياً"
ولماذا لا تحب؟ ألا يقولون بعد أن يلتقي القلبان لا يبقى على الآخرين إلا الفرجة يا ابني؟"
"لا يدخل قائلو هذا الكلام بالعقل.. لو أنها تقول نعم يعني...سأملأ ذراعيها بالأساور الذهبية المبرومة!"
