أيمن بكر ناقد وأكاديمي مصري من مواليد 1969 حاصل على الدكتوراه من جامعة القاهرة، يعمل حاليا أستاذا مساعدا للأدب والنقد في جامعة الخليج للعلوم والتكنولوجيا بالكويت؛ له عدة كتب في النقد الأدبي منها السرد في مقامات الهمذاني (1998)، وتشكلات الوعي وجماليات القصة (2002)، وقصيدة النثر العربية (2009).

ما تشهده الثقافة العربية الآن يمثل ذروة استثنائية في التلاعب غير العلمي بمواد الرتاث في مختلف مناحيه، وأخص التراثين الديني والمجتمعي على ما بينهما من تداخل، واستخدام تلك المواد وقودا لحرب طائفية عنصرية خطيرة، وهو ما يكشف عن أن إعادة النظر في مواد الرتاث، والدعوة التي يدعمها الكتاب الذي بين أيديكم لمزيد من الحرية في تأمل تلك المواد لا يعنيان ممارسة تأويل مفرط صادر عن
مواقف أيديولوجية مسبقة، بل تتصل إعادة النظر الحرة مبشرة بالتزام معرفي وأخلاقي، وباختيار طرائق التحليل العلمي، التي تتناسب ومحاولة إنتاج وعي مغاير ببعض مواد التراث. من زاوية أخرى تعد مقالات هذا الكتاب نتاجا مباشرا لحالة لعبٍ مُستمتِع بمواد التراث المختارة؛ سواء في قراءتها أو تحليلها، وهو لعب أرجو أن يكون قد احتفظ بالدهشة الطفولية التي صاحبت الكتابة.
