صدرَتْ له، غير الدراسات الثقافية في الغناء والموسيقى العربيين، مجموعاتٌ شعرية ورواية.
حائز على جائزة الشعر العربي 2005 ـ من جريد الرياض بالمملكة العربية السعودية، صدرت له خمس مجموعات شعرية آخرها "أهوال العدو" (2009)، ودراسات في الثقافة العربية آخرها: "ما وراء الوجه: سياسات الكتابة وثقافات المقاومة" (2010)، وهو صاحب رواية "سورة الرياض" (2007) عن دار الفارابي التي حققت أعلى مبيعات في معرض الكتاب الدولي بالرياض 2008.
Book Description
منذ انتقلنا من عنيزة إلى الرياض. الفرحة تقودني إلى مجهول. حاولت أن أطابق بين شوارع وسوق ديرتي والأحياء وبينها في الرياض. هزؤ بـي أخي ناصر.
هناك بعض السكك والبيوت تتشابه. التحام بين الطين والإسمنت. الأبواب تعلوها عتبة تقذف غبار وحصا فَحْط كفرات السيارات. البقالات والمشاغل النسائية المتناثرة في مداخل الأحياء. مدارس البنات مدسوسة بين البيوت الخفرة. بعض البيوت صامتة. بعضها مسرّحة الأقفال. يتجمّع حواليها أطفال بألبسة ملونة وشعور ينصع الزيت بها. بعض العباءات القصيرة بدت تنسدل حتى تمشّط الأرض بأطرافها غير المخبونة مثلما تنسدل المشالح حتى كعوب الرجال.
أذكر وجوه الشوارع كلها. الابتسامات التي أنضجتها شمس الصحارى. الملامح الجعداء من رفع فؤوس ورميها على جسد أرض لم تبرّ. السيارات تكاثرت حتى غدت بيوتاً صغيرة تتنقل وتتبعثر شهواتها على الأرصفة.
