وُظفت التواصلية في ميادين إنسانية كثيرة، كان الفن المسرحي من أبرزها، في تمظهرات الأداء التمثيلي للممثل المسرحي. حيث لا يمكن تصوّر فعل تواصل مسرحي، لا ينتمي في صيرورته الأدائية، على قدر من الشحنة الانفعالية، التي تحمل في ذاتها دوافع قصدية، من اجل التأثير في الآخر المتوجه له بالخطاب المسرحي.
إن ثمة روابط وثيقة بين المرموز اللفظي، الذي يحدده اللسان الاجتماعي، وبين المعطى الإيمائي والاشاري والحركي المرافق له. هذه البديهية المسلمة في الحياة الاعتيادية، تظهر في أداء الممثل المسرحي بمظاهر ممنهجة قصدية، تدخل التواصلية في صلب مضمونها الفكري والجمالي. وان أية مسافة ابعادية تطرح كبديل آخر، يترتب عليها خللاً في رسالة المسرح التواصلية مع المتلقي.
