كم تغْيَّرت قريته الواعدة الهادئة "متراح التون" وكان قد غادرها لآخر مرة قبل نحو 30 عامًا، حين كان في الثامنة عشرة من عمره، في طريقه إلى مصرَ لدراسة الثانوية العامة.
لم تتغيّر فجأة، فقد كان يلحظ في كلِّ زيارة لها، خصوصاً في السنوات الأخيرة... أنّها تنقلب على ذاتها، في كلّ زيارة كان يقوم بها بعد سفر أو رحلة عمل، أو غيابٍ قسريٍّ لأيّ سبب من الاسباب.
صحيح أنّه لم يكن يمكث فيها، خصوصاً بعد أن أصبح ربَّ أسرة، ولديه أولاد وأعمال، في بيروت وخارجها، اكثر من يومين في الاسبوع، من ظهيرة يوم الجمعة حتى مساء الاحد صيفاً وشتاءً، الاّ أنّه كضيعاوي محبّ للضّيعة، وحواريها ومناخها البيئي الانساني وروائح روث البقر والاغنام، بدأ يستشعر التغيير، بل قل الانقلاب، ففي ذهنه ان التغيير هو دائماً نحو الافضل، اما قريته "متراح التون" فهي تنقلب لأنّها ترجع إلى الخلف... كثيراً وبسرعة لتفقد بساطة الريف، ووداعة أهله، وتقاليد التعامل الانسانيّ العائليّ...
