توقف وسط الحقل يحاول فك شفرة الكلمات التي غزت مِسْمَعَيْه من كل اتجاه. بينما هو يحاول فهم حديث الأشجار، دنا منه صاحب الكلمات. وضع يده على كتفه، فقفزت الغيمة فجأة. ربت الصبي عليها فاستكانت. ابتسم صاحب الكلمات للصبي وهو يخاطبه: "كنت أنتظر حضورك. أرسل إليَّ الغلام صاحب السحاب خبرًا مع سحابة بأنك قادم. تعالَ معي لتشاهد الأشجار قبل أن تتخيَّر كلماتك منها. لديَّ شجرة تتقن لغاتٍ عدة، من يقطفْ منها ويأكل من كلماتها يبدُ ذكيًّا جدًّا للمستمعين، لكن عليه بذل جهد مضاعَف حتى لا تتداخل الكلمات وهو يتحدث فتختلط اللغات. ساعتَها لن يفهم حديثَه أحد، ويصير أضحوكة. قد يدهشك عدد الذين يختارون الأكل من ثمرها رغم مشكلاتها. أعتقد أن رغبتهم في الظهور بمظهر الأذكياء تفوق اهتمامهم بالتواصل والفهم، لكن لا بأس، فنحن بحاجة للضحك من حين إلى آخر! لديَّ شجرة أخرى لا تثمر سوى كلمة واحدة فقط. تختلف الكلمة باختلاف من يقطفها. تعرف الشجرة ما بقلب كل مَنْ يقترب منها، فتثمر الكلمة المناسبة لما يحمل هو بداخله. يفضِّل البعض هذه الشجرة لسهولة حديثها. كلمة واحدة، لا يرددون غيرها، ولا يغيرونها أبدًا، مهما حاولْتَ إقناعهم بأن هناك كلمات ولغات أخرى كثيرة. تتصلب ألسنتهم وأدمغتهم عندها، وكفى! لديَّ شجر مشاغب بعض الشيء، لكنه مُسَلٍّ. يطرح أحاجي من كلمات غير مكتملة، تركِّبها وتصل بعضها ببعض كيفما شئتَ، لتلائم أي موقف تواجهه. معظم من يفضلون ثمارها هم من المغرمين بلعب السياسة أو الفلسفة".
