تسير الرواية في خطي سرد متوازيين ومرتبطين بإحكام، فمن باريس يتلقى إياد توجيهات بالقتل والقنص المباشر لشخصيات لا يعرفها حيث يخوض مغامرات القنص بدم بارد انتقاما لعائلته التي تم اغتيالها في العراق بسبب عمل والده في مشروع الطاقة النووية ومن ناحية أخرى هناك خالد الذي يعاصر مأساة طرد العرب من غرناطة ثم يرتبط الخطان عير توصل إياد إلى الكتيب الذي يحكي فيه خالد قصته ويغير حياته. وكل هذا في إطار مشوق مرتبط بقصة حب لعائشة المغربية التي ترجع أصولها إلى الأندلس.
