صدر حديثاً عن الدار المصرية اللبنانية من سلسلة كلاسيكيات الادب - كتاب كليلة ودمنة والذى قدمه دكتور صلاح فضل وقدمه مطولاً محمد فتحي أبو بكر وتمت دراسته ومراجعته على يد عصام كمال السيوفي يعد هذا الكتاب من أصل هندي وقد وضعه العلماء الهند على لسان الطير والوحش، وقد نقل فى أيام كسرى انوشروان من الهندية الى الفارسية ونقله ابن المقفع من الفارسية الى العربية ومنها الى أكثر لغات العالم وذلك لكونه من مصادر الحكمة البشرية، وقد سمى بأسم اخوين من بنات آوى : كليلة ودمنة، ويعد هذا الكتاب - بالرغم من انتقاد بعض المستشرقين ومن ادلى بدلوهم لهذا الكتاب، وزعمهم بأن المقفع لم يتحر الدقة وتوسع فى عباراته، وانه انحرف احياناً بالفكرة، وانه وضع ابواباً من عنده - فبرغم كل هذا فان الكتاب يعد كما يقول الشيخ إبراهيم اليازجي من كنوز الحكمة المشرقية، بل الحكمة الآدمية التى لم يجتمع منها في الكتب ما أجتمع فيه على صغر حجمه وقله جرمه، فهو بهذا قيمة إنسانية خالدة والحكمة فيه قائمة على قواعد مكينة، يثبتها صاحبها بالبرهان والحجة، ويقيم عليها الشاهد، ويوضح نتائج اتباعها ومخالفتها بطريقة حية مؤثرة...
