أحمد صلاح سابق، مهندس معماري ومصمِّم جرافيك، وروائي ورسَّام. تخرَّج في كلية الهندسة، جامعة القاهرة، عام 2003، وعمل مهندسًا ومصمِّمًا في عددٍ من ستوديوهات التصميم المصرية والعالمية بالقاهرة وبودابست ولندن. نُشِرَت له رواية النمروذ في عام 2013، ورواية وادي الرماد في عام 2016.

في صبيحة الخامس والعشرين من مارس،وبعد مرور شهر واحد على أحداث "فبراير الموت" شنت الطائرات الحربية الأمريكية حملة مكثفة وواسعة على
النطاق على مصر خلال خمسين يوماً وجَهت القوات الجوية الأمريكية أكثر من مائة ألف هجوم جوي،ألقيت خلالهم على المدن والصحاري المصرية قرابة المائة ألف طن من المتفجرات قبل انتهاء الاسبوع السابع من الحملة الجوية،بدأت القوات البرية الغازية توغلها في الأراضي المصرية، ومازالت على المدن والقرى فدمرتها تدميراً استوعبت العمليات القتالية الرئيسية تسعين يوماً بالتمام،وكانت فى حقيقتها، ورغم كثافتها وضراوتها، عمليات قتالية تقليدية، فرقت شمل المقاومين وفرطت تدبيرهم وأهلكتهم،وجعلت البلاد بأسرها دكاً أطلق على الغزو الأسم الرمزي "عملية صواعق الرعب" وكان اسماً على مسمى.على مدار الأعوام التالية، لم تنقطع صواعق الويل والهلاك عن العصف بأنحاء وادى النيل وأهله، فتبدلت الأرض،ومسخت صور الخلائق وادهامت صور الناس مدى الدهر لم يكن الغزو نهاية مبرمة، بقدر ما كان بداية خلاقة، غيرت وجه الحياة في الوادي، وأوجدت واقعاً غريبًا، مشحونًا،وأرضًا جدباء، قاسية لم ير المصريون مثلها من قبل.
