في جديدها الأدبي «أحبها جداً» تروي إيمان حمد قصة حب لم تكتمل، والضحية هذه المرّة على غير العادة هو الرجل، فكيف استطاعت المرأة/الكاتبة أن تكون هي من يفتح مغاليق الرجل وصندوقه السري المُحكم، هو بالضبط ما سنعثر عليه في هذا العمل المختلف والمؤتلف في خطابه ومضمونه.
وفي هذه الرواية تتخذ "إيمان حمد" من الخطاب الموجه إلى حبيب سابق تقنية تغلف بها أحداث روايتها، فتقوم على جدلية المتكلم - المخاطب الذي تحكي فيه حكاية "عبد العزيز" بطل الرواية وراويها، ثم جدلية المتكلم - الغائب حين تحكي حكاية "عنود" الفتاة المراهقة التي خذلت حبيبها عند أول فرصة للزواج، وبدأت في بناء عالمها الخاص بمعزل عن قوانين الحب ونواميسه. وهنا يثور السؤال هل أرادت الكاتبة تقديم أنوثة متمردة أم ذكورة مغايرة للعلاقة بين الرجل والمرأة وأي رسالة أرادت البعث بها إلى العاشقين؟ وإن بلغة شاعرية بامتياز، تجد ضالتها في المفردة السهلة الممتنعة، الدالة على روح المعنى؛ والتي تبلغ شأوها باستعارات جميلة تتجه نحو الرومانسية المطلقة، فإذا بعشاقها غير كل العاشقين، وروايتها غير كل الروايات. نقرأ منها:
"عندما تضيق بي الدنيا لا أريد سوى صوتها، وأحبها عندما تشعر من صوتي أن ثمة خطب ما، رغم أنها لم تسعدني بل زادت بخذلاني، إلا أن حُبها لم يمت بداخلي، لم يُهمل، لم يُهمش!
علِمَت بأني أحبها فتركتني للأوجاع، تركتني أصارع النزف الذي زرعته فيّ، جلستُ وحيداً مع الشرخ الذي أحدثته، أردتها أن تُضمده فلا مُجيب لندائي".
