Book Description
يتحدر خالد من أسرة فقيرة. مات والده وهو لا يزال صغيراُ، وترك له أماً مريضة وأخوات صغاراً... وديناً كبيراً لا يقوى على سداده.
سدت أبواب العمل في وجهه، وقست ظروف الحياة عليه: أنه طريحة الفراش، وأخوته صغار جائعون "يسلخ" من لحمه ليطعمهم، ودائنون عجائز يساومونه على "شراء" أخوته لسداد دينهم.
تحاول إحدى الحركات المتطرفة استدراجه و"إغواءه" بالمال للانضمام إليها: كان حائراً حدَّ الموت. هل يستسلم لظروفه القاسية ويلتحق بها؟ هل يشترك في جرائم القتل والتفجير؟
تطرق هذه الرواية ظاهرة خطيرة وحساسة: الإرهاب، وتحاول أن تحيط بالأسباب التي تدفع شاباً في مقتبل العمر إلى أن يصير إرهابياً وقاتلاً، ولماذا يفعل ذلك، وهل "يختار" طوعاً أن يقتل نفسه انتحاراً؟ ومن المسؤول عن انتحاره: الحركات المتطرفة، أم المجتمع، أم الفقر والعوز وانعدام فرص العمل، أم هو نفسه لأنه ارتضى أن يكون ضحية هذه العوامل مجتمعة؟
