وما أن صدر "الحزام" بالفرنسية الذي هو أول كتاب لكاتب من الجزيرة العربية يكتب عملاً إبداعياً باللغة الفرنسية، ما إن صدر هذا الكتاب حتى اكتشف أحمد بودهمان أن له، ولأبناء قريته أهلاً في كل مكان، وأن آخرين لا يعرفهم سينقلونه إلى لغاتهم، لكن أكثر التراحيب ألفة وحميمية ما قالته قارئة من المغرب العربي "هذه ذاكرتنا ردت إلينا".
