لم تؤثر آراء ابن سينا في فلاسفة المشرق وحدهم؛ بل كان لآرائه في التصوف تأثير عميق في مذاهب المفكرين في إسبانيا الإسلامية، بيد أنه ينبغي لنا أن نذكر هنا أن هذا التصوف الشرقي اتخذ لونا جديدا في ذلك القطر البعيد. فقد استطاعت الحضارة العربية في الأندلس أن تظل بريئة إلى حد ما، من الاختلاط ببعض الثقافات الشرقية الأخرى كثقافة الهند أو فارس التي كان يرتبط فيها التصوف دائما بالطقوس الدينية وضروب شتى من الزهد والتنسك. ويمكن القول بأن إسبانيا هي التي شهدت التصوف الإسلامي القائم على أسس من الفلسفة العربية والإغريقية حيث توجد فيها نظرية الفيض المشرقية جنبا إلى جنب مع نظريتي النفس والعقل في الفلسفة الأرسطوطاليسية. وقد كان ابن باجة وابن طفيل أشهر ممثلي هذه المدرسة الجديدة. أما ابن رشد فقد استطاع أن يتحرر نهائيا من فلسفة المشارقة وأتباعهم في المغرب عندما طرح نظرية الفيض جابا، وولى وجهه صوب مذهب عقلي أكثر اتفاقا مع فلسفة أرسطو. أما ابن باجة فهو يفرق بين عقول أربعة هي: العقل الهيولاني والعقل بالفعل والعقل المستفاد والعقل الفعال. وكان يرى كالفارابي أن لكل عقل من هذه العقول وظيفة مزدوجة. فهو مادة من جهة وصورة من جهة أخرى، أي مادة للعقل الذي يليه وصورة للعقل الذي يسبقه. فهناك إذن نوع من التدرج في الوظائف العقلية لدى الإنسان فالعقل المستفاد هو الذي يفيض من العقل الفعال، وهو لدى ابن باجة مادة للصور العقلية التي تفيض عليه. ولكنه، في الوقت نفسه، صورة لعقل ادنى مرتبة منه وهو العقل بالفعل. وهذا الأخير مادة له، ولكنه من جهة أخرى صورة للعقل الهيولاني.
