هناك كتاب يولدون كبارا، وهي حالة نادرة التكرار ومدعاة للتأمل، وهذا الكاتب ((محمد العدوي)) وروايته الأولى ((الرئيس))، منحاني الفرصة لمحاولة سبر بعض أغوار هذه الظاهرة الإبداعية الجميلة، فقد أتيح لي أن أعرفه كاتبا قبل أن أسعد بمعرفته شخصيا، عندما قرأت له مقالا جميلا مزج بين العلم والأدب بأداء رفيع ولغة شاعرة وعمق في التقصي ورحابة في المنظور، حتى أنني تمنيت أن أكون كاتب هذه المقطوعة النثرية المرفرفة، وهذا أحد مقاييسي لجودة الكتابة، وبرغم أنني تواصلت مع الكاتب فيما بعد، وتعرفت على عذوبته الإنسانية وغزارة وصفاء منابعه الثقافية، إلا أنني أشفقت عليه عندما حدثني عن مشروعه الروائي عندما اختار أن يكتب رواية عن ((ابن سينا)) الطبيب الفيلسوف ((الرئيس))، وكان إشفاقي من وعورة العالم الذي اختار اقتحامه، والصعوبة التي تتطلب حنكة أدبية كبيرة لترويض هذه الوعورة حتى يتخلى الموضوع عن قساوته التاريخية وتدويخه الفلسفي ويلين لعاطفة الأدب، الأدب الذي هو في أفضل تعريفاته ((سجل للمشاعر)).
