Book Description
تقع مدينة الزبارة على الشاطئ الشمالي الغربي لقطر وتبعد عن مدينة الدوحة بحوالي 105 كم، يحوي الموقع خرائب مدينة الزبارة بقصورها ومنازلها ومخازنها وهي مقامة على أرض سبخة، وتمتد فوق مساحة تبلغ حوالي 60 هكتارا داخل الأسوار التي تحيط بالمدينة من جهاتها الثلاث (الجهة الرابعة مفتوحة على البحر)، يتخللها (20 برجا)، أقيمت على مسافات غير متساوية تتراوح ما بين 90 و 115 متر. تقع مروب على أطراف منخفض غني بالأعشاب البرية على مسافة أربعة كم تقريبا من ساحل البحر، شمالي مدينة دخان بحوالي خمسة عشر كم بين النعمان وأم الماء. يشمل الموقع قلعة بنيت على أنقاض قلعة أقدم منها عهدا تتوزع حولها المنازل وعددها حوالي 250 منزل في مجموعات تعداد أكبرها 170، وتنتشر على شكل قوس دائري إلى الشمال من القلعة، إضافة إلى مجموعتين صغيرتين واحدة إلى الغرب والثانية على مسافة كيلومتر واحد تقريبا إلى الجنوب من القلعة. وقد أظهرت أعمال التنقيب أيضا مسجدين عند أطراف المجموعة السكنية شمالي القلعة، وهناك مجموعة منتظمة من المدافن تختلف أحجامها غربي القرية الشمالية ومجموعات متفرقة جنوبي القلعة والمنخفض.
