الكلمات ليست مجرد ألفاظ، أنها وسيلة تعبير وتواصل بينك وبين الآخرين. كذلك هي وسيلة تفاهم. بالكلمة تؤثر على من هم حولك. وكذلك هم يستعملونها للتأثير عليك. إن للكلمات معان، أطلق على شيء ما عدة أسماء، وتخيل ردة فعلك. كل اسم سيجعلك تنظر غليه نظرة مختلفة عن الآخر. عند المساء، تجلس صامتا على شرفة منزلك، الشمس اختفت، وها هي النجوم بدأت تظهر في كبد السماء. لا تقل ((إنه منظر رائع)). لأن اللحظة التي قلت فيها إنه منظر رائع، لن تبقى هي هي. بقولك ((منظر رائع)) تكون تستحضر الماضي. كلمتك ((رائع)) تحتوي تعابير عدة عن الجمال وكل تعبير هو جديد كليا. الحياة الآن ليست هي كما كانت من قبل ولن تكون ثانية هكذا. إذن لماذا تتحدث بصيغة الماضي؟ الحاضر أوسع وأرحب. والماضي قليل الاتساع، ضيق. لماذا تنظر من خلال ثقب في جدار، بينما بإمكانك الخروج والنظر إلى السماء، كل السماء؟ لذا، إياك واستعمال الكلمات، وإن اضطررت، فاختر كلماتك بعناية فائقة، ذلك لأن لكل كلمة سحرها الخاص وتأثيرها المميز. كن شاعريا باختيار الكلمات، قلها بإحساس يعبر عن حب. هناك كلمات تعبر عن الأحاسيس وأخرى عن العقل، دعك من هذه الأخيرة واستعمل تلك التي تعبر عن الأحاسيس. هناك كلمات تسبب الخلافات والصدمات، وبمجرد أن تتلفظ بواحدة منها، سيدور نقاش وجدل. إذن دعك من أمثال هذه الكلمات. إياك واللغة الجافة، إنتق الكلمات المؤثرة، كلمات الحب، كلمات الحنان، فلا شك ستشعر بتغير هائل. قول كلمة، بدون الاهتمام باختيارها، قد يسبب سلسلة من المآسي. ولكن إن أحسنت الاختيار فلن تكون هناك مأساة. مجرد تغيير بسيط، قد يخلق فرقا كبيرا. ما عليك، إلا أن تكون جد حذر، ولا تلجأ لاستعمال الكلمات إلا عند الضرورة. تجنب الكلمات المثيرة للجدل والنقاش. تلفظ فقط بالكلمات المثيرة للأحاسيس والمشاعر. وإن تمكنت أن تصبح خبيرا في اختيار الكلمات، فستتغير كل حياتك، كذلك علاقاتك مع الآخرين. لأن الكلمات هي التي تعبر عن العلاقات وترمز إلى نوعيتها. حتى الإيماءة هي كلمة. تجنب أية كلمة، تثير الغضب ، النقاش والجدال، واستبدلها بكلمة تريح النفس. أفضل الأشياء هو الصمت، من ثم الغناء، فالشعر فالحب.
